Luxury fur brand Yves Salomon is coming to New Zealand and is to hit Bay of Plenty store first!

With a history stepped in tradition luxury fur brand Yves Salomon manages to cross high-end luxury with their super star entry level price pointed Army jacket.

Yves Salomon is a family run fur company with a history dating back to 1920. The brand has being providing fur to the world’s most luxurious brands in fashion including Yves Saint Laurent, Prada and Jean Paul Gaultier.

Yves Salomon's fur-lined and trimmed cotton canvas army parka was introduced six years ago, and has been the brand's best seller in the U.S. for the past three years. Spotted on everyone from Alexa Chung to ASAP Rocky, it comes in many variations including and is an instant sell out when it hits the floor.

"It's water repellent... and it's sporty," said Salomon. "So basically it's a new way to wear fur. It's cool and chic and at the same time, it's trendy and relaxed."

Prices for the women’s parka range from around $1,600 to $4,000. This is certainly an investment for some, but in this world of fur where a single piece could easily cost between $20,000 and $50,000, it's a more accessible price range that the brand is experimenting with beyond parkas.

Yves Salomon boasts a 1,300-square-foot shop-in-shop at Harrods and has many other locations around the globe including a strong presence in the US with a home on Madison Avenue in New York City as well as wholesaling to Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys and a boutique in Aspen in 2011.
