In Conversation, Emma Winter | La Tribe, Hold Me Close
We dive into conversation with La Tribe's creative director, Emma Winter. She talks us through the design and inspiration behind their latest collection "Hold Me Close".
Congratulations on the latest collections launch! What inspired you while putting this together?
"The theme of our AW23 collection Hold me close was being able to be vulnerable but at the same time feeling the support of your sisterhood to pull you through the hard times. We’ve all been through a lot over the last few years and it’s the sense of connection and community which keeps us all pushing on together. The designs for the collection were inspired by everyone’s changing lifestyles after covid. What is considered your work space could be from home now or a office a few days a week whatever that looked like we wanted to create styles which work at home and at the office. Out to dinner with friends. We wanted to extend the usability of styles so one style could take you everywhere."
What are your favourites and why? How will you be wearing them?
"I love the braided clog because it’s new silhouette and is so versatile, I love the scandi feel about them. With denim jeans and a crisp white shirt or maxi dress they are so easy to style".
"Amelia loafer is also a classic style which is timeless - I can’t wait to wear these with high waisted pants and tee shirts".
When creating this collection, did you envision certain outfits for each style?
"We always have outfit discussions when new designs come in I think it’s important to visualise what the styling looks like. We have a lot of inspirational mood boards to inspire us as well".
If this collection was a place, where would it be?
" Copenhagen".
Lastly, we know that La Tribe does timeless though trendy designs very well, what are your predictions this year with footwear trends?
" New Knee high boot shapes and Loafers styles. These trends seem to be coming from Europe this Winter".
