TRENDS FROM THE STREETS OF PARIS...
After a few seasons off due to the global pandemic, the fashion pack was back out in force for the Paris fashion market and men's fashion week this final week of June. The conclusion of all the fashion weeks, I do always feel like the best street-style looks are saved for last. With shows from heavy hitters such as Louis Vuitton, Givenchy and Hermes, as well as other upcoming American and European brands, there were great trends to spot on the street.
Suits
Suiting is going to be big this season and whilst white seemed to be the colour du jour (more often than not paired with a teeny tiny matching crop top) classic camel and black proved their evergreen worth on the streets of Paris too. Those looking to make a bit more of a statement opted for a colour pop.
Chic French brand, created by influencer Ann-Laurie Mais, chic striped suits are definitely high on our wish list!
The Trench.
Making a fashion come back (did they ever actually leave?), the trench coat proved to be an important Parisian wardrobe staple. They are classic, they are chic, they are versatile. Key looks saw the trench simply teamed with loose denim and a white tee, or paired with a slip or dress for true day-to-night style.
The Oversized Shirt.
A french style staple always seen on the streets of Paris is the oversized shirt. It can be worn in so many ways and is one of my ultimate go-to pieces. You can wear the oversized shirt so many ways I actually feel like I need a list...
Wear as an oversized dress with trainers or heels for a comfortable yet super sexy look
They make the perfect lightweight layer when traveling.
Pop over your bikini on the way to the beach bar.
Add a casual edge to your nighttime look (great with a miniskirt, great with sequins!).
Pair with matching shorts for the ultimate in pulled-together, relaxed style.
Beach - office - night. Need I say more.
A great pair of jeans.
French women are never afraid of wearing jeans - paired back with shirts, trenches and the classic white tee, jeans are another cult piece of the Parisian wardrobe. From the original best seller Levi rib cage to the Redone high rise loose or Mother tripper, there are styles for everyone. Wide leg, straight, mom jeans, dad jeans, skinny, cropped, book cut, light, dark. The selection is wide-ranging and they go with EVERYTHING
