Paco Rabanne

Paco Rabanne is a Spanish brand founded by Francisco Rabaneda y Cuervo. The brand carries ready-to-wear, accessories and fragrance, and is part of PUIG, a third-generation family-owned fashion and fragrance business based in Barcelona.

In 1966 Rabanne released his first collection entitled 12 Unwearable Dresses in Contemporary Materials. Embellished with rhodoid, sequins and plaques the collection marked the beginning of Rabanne’s view of design as experimentation using unusual materials. The brand's aesthetic established itself as drawing from art, later collaborating with Salvador Dalì.

In 1999 Rabanne retired from fashion. In 2014, Lydia Maurer was replaced by Julien Dossena as creative director.
