Caitlin Crisp Spring 22'
Spring has well and truly sprung, and we are so excited to be kicking it off with a Q&A with Caitlin Crisp as she launches her latest collection.
1. Talk to us about spring - how are you feeling!?
I am 100% in the spring/summer spirit! This is my favourite season to design for and of course, to wear. There are so many exciting events coming up that we have missed out on in recent years with covid so I'll be making the most of that!
2. Your new collection is bright, cheerful, and full of fun. How did you want the wearer to feel and what was the mood you wanted to evoke with these beautiful pieces?
Happiness is key in both my workplace and household and I hope that this collection brings that same feeling of lightness and joy to our wider CC community.
3. What was inspiring you when you put this collection together?
At the time, we were up and down in the traffic light system (which I think I may have taken too literally with the colour pallette of red, yellow and green.. eeekk!). It was designed earlier in the year when summer was still a far away dream, so I dreamt up my perfect wardrobe.
4. The names of the pieces seem very familiar, can you elaborate?
Naming garments and colours is both the most challenging and fun part! The new linen styles to me feel very romantic, so we named them after my fave Shania Twain songs. Then the mix and match lounge sets are named after cartoon characters.. Nobody suits Mickey better than Minnie so naturally the two go together!
5. What are your favourite pieces and where and how will you be wearing them?
I have a few big weddings coming up so I have been eyeing up the forever and always dresses in tango and flowerbomb for those events. My everyday go-to pieces are going to be the lounge sets as mentioned above.
6. What are you most looking forward to with our newfound warmer weather and longer days?
I have been planning and scheming how I might be able to fit in a few more WFB (work from boat) days this summer as those were a highlight of last year. Hopefully I'll be able to get the CC team out for another sailing lesson.
